Hand2Mouth Theatre è un ensemble teatrale con sede a Portland, Oregon . Il gruppo crea in modo collaborativo le proprie performance ed evolve autonomamente tutti i linguaggi, i movimenti e gli elementi di design, invece di lavorare da un copione pre-scritto.
Dal 2006, Hand2Mouth gestisce anche un programma di educazione giovanile nell'area di Portland.

Storia
Jonathan Walters ha fondato Hand2Mouth nel 2000 dopo essersi allenato con la compagnia teatrale di strada Teatr Biuro Podrozy in Polonia. A partire dal 2009, Hand2Mouth ha creato 15 performance originali e l'ensemble è cresciuto fino a includere un nucleo di membri della compagnia e artisti associati. I membri della compagnia hanno viaggiato e studiato a Londra, New York, Polonia, Danimarca e Città del Messico.
Processo di sviluppo delle prestazioni
Gli attori, i drammaturghi e i designer di Hand2Mouth sviluppano in modo collaborativo le performance utilizzando una combinazione di improvvisazioni di lunga durata, movimento, danza, canto e discussione. Ogni collaboratore contribuisce con il materiale ricercato attraverso questi mezzi. Elementi di design possono derivare dalla sperimentazione e dall'improvvisazione di materiali, scenografie, luci, suoni, musica e vari oggetti portati in scena.
