La finale dell'EFL Trophy 2019 è stata una partita di calcio giocata allo stadio di Wembley il 31 marzo 2019. Ha deciso i vincitori dell'EFL Trophy 2018-19 , la 35a edizione della competizione , un torneo ad eliminazione diretta per le 48 squadre della League One e Lega Due e 16 squadre dell'Accademia di categoria uno.
La finale è stata contestata da League One lati Portsmouth e Sunderland , di cui il vincitore ha ricevuto £ 100,000 ed i Runners-up ha ricevuto £ 50.000. Questa è stata la prima finale del Trofeo in cui due campioni di calcio inglese si sono affrontati in 31 anni. È stata anche la prima finale del trofeo EFL a essere disputata da due ex club della Premier League .
La squadra di Portsmouth ha utilizzato lo spogliatoio di Wembley a ovest, mentre il Sunderland ha utilizzato l'Est. Il lancio di una moneta ha deciso che Sunderland aveva la prima scelta nella selezione del kit. Ciò significava che il Portsmouth giocava con i calzini blu da trasferta per evitare di scontrarsi con i calzini rossi di prima scelta del Sunderland.
Il Portsmouth ha vinto la finale dopo essere arrivato da un gol in svantaggio con l'attaccante inglese Oliver Hawkins che ha segnato il rigore vincente nella sparatoria per consegnare al Portsmouth il loro primo trofeo dalla FA Cup del 2008 . Il difensore centrale del Portsmouth, Matthew Clarke , è stato nominato migliore in campo. La partita ha visto la partecipazione di 85.021 persone, rendendola la partita più assistita nel Regno Unito e la seconda più alta in Europa quel fine settimana. Ha stabilito un nuovo record di presenze per il Football League Trophy, superando la finale del 1988 .
